Summer Energy

Hello friends,
Have you noticed that June feels different?
The days are longer. The weather is warmer. Vacations start appearing on the calendar. Kids are home from school. Routines become a little less routine.
Even if your schedule hasn't changed much, there's often a shift in energy this time of year.
And yet many of us are still carrying expectations from January.
We want to stay productive. We want to make progress on our goals. We want to keep moving forward.
At the same time, we want to enjoy the slower pace of summer. Sit outside with our coffee. Take evening walks. Spend time with friends and family. Stay out a little later because the sun is still shining.
Then we get stuck in the middle.
Not fully working.
Not fully resting.
Feeling guilty about whichever one we're not doing.
Sound familiar?
One thing I've noticed—in myself and in talking with all of you—is that most people don't struggle with wanting to make progress.
They struggle with getting started.
We want to write the book, make the call, exercise, update the resume, launch the project, or tackle the goal.
But somehow the doing feels harder than the wanting.
This month, instead of asking, "How do I stay as productive as I was in spring?" try asking:
"What would sustainable progress look like this summer?"
Maybe it's 15 focused minutes instead of an hour.
Maybe it's one small action instead of a complete overhaul.
Maybe it's consistency over intensity.
Journal Prompts:
Where am I trying to force myself into a routine or expectation that no longer fits this season?
What goal or project matters most to me right now, and what is the smallest next step I could take?
What activities leave me feeling energized, grounded, and connected during the summer months?
Where am I confusing perfection with progress?
What would "enough" look like for me this summer?
If I trusted that small steps create momentum, what would I do this week?
Affirmations:
I can enjoy this season while continuing to move forward.
Small, consistent actions create meaningful progress.
I release the pressure to do everything all at once.
I trust myself to adapt as the seasons of life change.
