It's My Birthday, and I'll Celebrate

It' my birthday this week. Thursday to be exact. There seem to be two camps of people when it comes to their birthdays. One type tends to ignore it for whatever reason (although I truly wonder if they actually do), the other wants all the celebration and stretches it out to include their entire birthday week and birthday month.
I'm solidly in camp two. I have always loved my birthday. Words of affirmation and gift-giving are my love languages, and they are both wrapped into birthdays. I love all the well-wishes from my friends and family, as well as the occasional surprise package. I relish the attention.
There's something about birthdays.
Honestly, there's something about all of those days - that would otherwise a normal Thursdays - but for the meaning we assign to them, become something else. Birthdays, New Year's Day (or the first of any month), Mondays become permission to start something new. To look back and take stock.
I like to call it Turn the Page Day.
I'm not living the same life as I was on my last birthday, so this year I plan to schedule the time to reflect. I'm planning on working through my Life Drafting framework this week instead of waiting to do it all with you in December. I'm ready to take stock right now. I'm ready to dream and vision. I'm ready to solidify my processes and habits into something sustainable.
I'm heading into a rebrand - in life and business - and my birthday just seems like an appropriate jumping-off point. So I'll be doing my own version of this work quietly this week—you'll get the full experience together in December, with a new framework I've been building. I'll be looking inward to take stock as I plan out my year in pencil.
Journal Prompts
If this week were the first page of a new chapter, what would the opening line be?
What page am I turning away from, and what am I glad to leave there?
What would I do differently this year if I stopped waiting for January 1st to give me permission?
What's one thing I've been "saving" for someday that could just start now?
What does turning the page look like for me this year—a fresh page, or just a new scene in the same story?
Affirmations
I get to decide what this next chapter is about.
I don't need a reason to begin again. I just needed a page break.
